Privacy + Data Info
We solemnly promise
There are naughty people in the world who like to ruin things for honest folk. They steal honest folk’s private info and sell it to companies who then spam you. We hate this and we will do everything we can to not do this to you.
So here are our promises to you…
We promise not to sell your personal data to anyone.
We just won’t do it!
We promise to take good care of your information. We are committed to ensure your data is protected. We have systems in place for both physical data and electronic data to protect it.
What data will we ask you for? Well obviously we need your names. An email address. A phone number. Your wedding details – so that important things like venues, dates and times are correct, your guest names for the invites, and their names and addresses for the envelopes, plus any specialty information related to the creation of your stationery, like colour, size etc. We only ask for the information we need to complete your order. And that is it.
If we are posting things to you, then we will ask for your postal address, so everything goes to the correct place.
We will use your provided data in the following ways.
Firstly – to complete your stationery order. Secondly – after your order is complete, we will keep one printed copy of each item and the electronic art files. Thirdly – we may photograph your stationery to use it for display or promotional purposes. Our promotional purposes can include print adverts, flyers, catalogues or any online presence we may have. Your printed samples could make it into our shop display (woo hoo – you’ve made the board) or can be displayed at wedding expos. However this happens ONLY AFTER YOU ARE MARRIED. We are not into spoilers. Promise. If for whatever reason you don’t want us to use your stationery for promotional purposes, then please just tell us before completion of your order, and we promise not to use it.
Who will see your data? Me and John. And that’s it. A graphic artist who married a printer. If you decide that you want us to post your stationery for you, then the postmaster or postmistress are in the loop as well. But they too are professionals with data.
How long do we keep your data? Once your stationery is complete all your personal data – physical and electronic – regarding your order will be deleted 12 months after completion. Why 12 months? Because sometime after your initial order you may want to order extra invites or thank you’s and it is helpful for us to still have it. After 12 months physical paperwork is shredded. Electronic data (excluding artwork files) deleted. The only paperwork that is kept longer than 12 months are invoices which the Australian Taxation Office requires us to keep for seven years.
We promise not to spam or stalk you. We really don’t have time, honest. I may email you after the wedding though to see how it went, make sure you are ok and that everyone behaved. Or I may ask if you’d write a testimonial for us.
Financial transactions relating to your order are handled by our payment service providers. If a bank can’t keep your data safe there is a real problem. Once we have a shop on the website we will be using a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology on our website shop to ensure that your data is safe as it is transmitted to us. However be aware that no data transmission can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We recommend never emailing or texting credit card details direct to us, rather ask us for our bank details to do a bank deposit or go through the shopping cart which has the best protection available.
If you want at any time to see what data we have of yours then please just ask. The Data Protection Act of 1998 is in place to keep to keep your information safe.
